COMING SOON! Exhibition 'I, SUPERHERO!'

I, SUPERHERO!
Real and Imaginary Heroes
At Tartu Toy Museum in 2026

A hero is a person of outstanding personal characteristics or special talents who has – risking their own life or health – done an extraordinary deed. Who wouldn’t dream of saving the world as Batman or climbing the walls as Spiderman!

The screens of today’s children feature the Paw Patrol, Cat Noir, and Ladybug, while their parents aspired to be like the world’s strongest girl Pippi Longstocking and the tail-twirling Biker Mice from Mars. In real life, however, special people walk right beside us: police officers, paramedics, firefighters, and lifeguards. The two-legged heroes are supported by four-legged assistants – service dogs, guide dogs, assistance dogs, and therapy dogs.

But each one of us can actually perform everyday heroic deeds. Even by simply wearing a helmet while riding a bike or by standing up for a friend who is being bullied. The hands-on exhibition of Tartu Toy Museum gives you a chance to get acquainted both with imaginary and real heroes – visitors can measure their own level of heroism, score points in becoming a superhero, and playfully gather hundreds of snippets of new knowledge.

The exhibition displays hero toys from the Toy Museum’s collection and the artistic part of the exhibition is created by the children of Tartu City kindergartens.
